International event of 2013

INTERNATIONAL EVENT in SPAIN SAT 26th Oct
The date is now set for this event by invite only. The rules are as follows:
1)Runners compete with ADAC vests over an undulating 5 mile course.
2)Individual and team awards will be presented with the following guidlines.
A)The overall winner will be determined by combining the FASTEST time & HANDICAPED POSITION (ie 1st , 2nd home) & also the rank order of AGE GRADE % thus the lowest number wins.
teams have been chosen. Gordy and Jose take on Kev and Andy. The combined highest age grade wins the team award.
3) medal will be awarded to the individual winner.
4)losing team will pay for evening meal. In the event that Jose is not on the winning team he reserves the right to evict anyone on the oposing team. Gordy is safe.

The current record for this run stands at 32:55 set by yours truly.......................obviously. If the record is broken this person is exempt from paying for any meal whatsover whilst on this expedition.
The course is quite undulating and you will NOT get lost as it is an out and back route. If however you get your feet wet because you are in the sea then please turn back.

The International event of the year took place this morning (UK time) at high noon.
The course record was broken not once , but twice by both Andy and José on a blistering hot day of unbroken sunshine with temps. approaching 29c.
Gordy the Ramos lead off the runners at a good pace and both And and Kev started out together with Andy setting a really fast pace over this tough course. José had a lot to do to get near them but just edged past Andy in the final downhill section.
All runners enjoyed the event (although not at the time) and a nice dip in the pool followed.
Hopefully next week's event will enjoy similar weather conditions (although I cannot see this happening).
This has been a great adventure and hopefully will become a regular event on the international calender.
The winning team of José/Gordy now go on to compete at the World championships in Brazil in 2015.
