WINTER FUN WEEKEND CHANGE
Hi all
Hope everyone has had a nice Christmas and am sure that you are all looking ahead to getting some running in to get rid of the excess food and drink consumed
Our winter fun weekend is due to take place on the weekend of 10th/11th and 12th of January. Speaking to some of you recently I have had a rethink on the scheduled events. The 4 mile Lockerbie road run on the Friday night shall remain the same but the x country run at Annan on Saturday has been reduced from a 12mile to a 6 mile run from Annan to Brydekirk vie the river ( this will allow more people to do the full events and therefore make it more competitive - also the paths to Hoddom are pretty bad due to the heavy rain that has fallen this month ) and instead of a short run at Langholm on the Sunday we will head to Brownmoor to do 2 laps starting and finishing from the car park area. The Lockerbie run will start at 7pm and the other events will begin at 10.30am . The format will be as last year i.e. Your 3 times will be added together and the quickest time wins . Obviously you have to do all 3 events to count but you will be able to do any number of events and still earn points for your team. There will also be a one of charge of £3.00 to cover cost of refreshments for winter league events.
Hope this meets with your approval.

Re: WINTER FUN WEEKEND CHANGE
Fine with me Caza - still a good mix of off-road running and climbing on the alternative courses.
Are we running up the western bank of the river from Annan or taking in the path diversion around the back of Galabank?

Re: WINTER FUN WEEKEND CHANGE
Well Billy-no-mates ran he river route course this afternoon.
Off road shoes will certainly be an advantage, muddy and slippery throughout.
A couple of blown down trees provide obstacles to either negotiate or go the long way round and the climb up to Galabank in the last mile is a wee beggar on tired legs!
Good fun though

Very very very muddy, and with the all this rain it could get worse, while off road shoes would almost be a must for this bit of the the course all the rest is suitable for road shoes, at the minute I am leaning towards road shoes and just try and slip and slide though the muddy part.

Re: WINTER FUN WEEKEND CHANGE
Due to the flooding and high tides the Saturday X country run may have to be changed I do have an alternative x country route also in Annan so keep checking - decision will be made on Thursday night.
