This weekend Bob Graham recce photos.

Well I and Martin travelled down to the Lakes this weekend to meet 7 other runner from all over the UK to recce leg 3 of the Bob Graham round. We did not plan on doing the full leg but parked a car at the pub at Old Dungeon Gyll which allowed us to do about 2/3 of the leg. It was a fantastic day for it, bright and sunny though a bit cold in the wind on the tops.

We had a couple of causalities, Pat one lady with us turned an ankle so she walked back off the hill with her husband to make sure she made it back to the pub OK, then Roy pulled his hamstring and too made his way back to the pub. A bit latter I came back off the face of Bowfell with Igg as she couldn’t climb up any further on the rock face scramble. To be fair we were bashing foot holes in the snow/ice with rocks. One of the lads with us described it as a grade one ice climb; don’t know what that is but it was a bit hairy on there. It was then that I climbed back down and me and Igg headed for the pub, (do you see a common theme here.)

Not long after I was sitting in front of the log burner in the pub the rest of the party came in for a pint.
